Training – Day One

I made it! I finally made it! After writing to you guys during the Easter Bank Holiday, I received my clearance on Tuesday morning to start the first part of my training! So yesterday I travelled down to Heathrow, checked myself into Travelodge, ready for my first day of training today!

If there’s one thing I do like is a good Travelodge – it is always my hotel of choice if I have to stay overnight anywhere. I’ve found that London Heathrow Central Travelodge is the best one – it’s close to Terminal 5, Waterside, SkyPeople training & BA training.. there’s actually a couple of other people staying here too for training so I don’t feel like I’m on my own 🙂  I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re going to be doing your medical early & need an overnight stay beforehand, or if you need somewhere to stay during training & you don’t find a crew house to go into.

So yeah, I started SkyPeople today!! 🙂 Last night I did a dummy run to the centre so I knew exactly where I would be going this morning so as not to be stressed, and it’s so close – a 10min drive!.. It was a lot of information to take in on the first day. We got to know each other & our trainer, we were given an idea of how our week will pan out, and then we just went straight in – I ended up making 5 pages worth of notes!

I am now in bed, watching EastEnders (if you’ve seen my Instagram story you will already know this! haha) & then I am going to revise over todays notes, ready for the exam in the morning.. yes, an exam – we have an exam every morning at 08:30 about the information from the day before, so that could be fun…….

Now I’m here, I’m really looking forward to getting going. There’s only 6 of us in our training group, so it’s quite intimate & learning quite quickly.

Let’s see what the rest of this week brings!
