How is it June tomorrow already? Where has the time actually gone so far this year..? I feel like I have had so much going on this year that the time has literally run away with me.. I can’t believe it!
June looks like it’s going to be an exciting month though.. it’s my first full month of flying. If you’re following my Instagram then you’ll know where I’m going to, but in case you don’t, this is what the line-up is looking like:
TORONTO, CANADA 🇨🇦
DUBAI, U.A.E 🇦🇪
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦
I have a few there & backs & an available slot thrown in in between when I don’t get off of the plane, but these are the places I’m most excited about. I’ve got 2 new countries that I’ve never been to before, so I can scratch them off of my map off the world when I get back.. that’s coming along nicely!
I’ve been back at home in Essex for the past 4 days, and it’s been so nice to see some friends, have some chill time, do things I’ve needed to do. I’ve got to head back to Heathrow tonight as I’m heading to Toronto tomorrow afternoon. It’s going to be a little strange though as I’m flying out with one crew, but coming back with a different one. This barely ever happens but apparently with Toronto it happens a lot due to the different aircrafts that travel out there. I’m not trained on the Dreamliner which is why I can’t go back with the same crew, however it means I get an extra day out there so I’m not fussed at all! It just a learning curve as I’ll be walking into a team that are already completely established and know each other.
I feel like I’m really starting to get into the swing of things now. I meeting some great people who are sharing their knowledge with me which I really appreciate, and I’m also making some new friends who I hope I get to fly with again really soon. I’m starting to understand what it means to get as much sleep as possible, nap in the bunks on the plane when it’s break time & how to deal with eating while working. There’s so many tricks of the trade that you only figure out once you’re in the situation, they’ve been really handy to know. I still feel like I’ve got so much more left to learn, but it keeps it exciting and fresh!
I’m also auditioning for the British Airways Cabin Crew Entertainment Society (BACCES) at the end of the month too. I’m so excited about this! BACCES puts on a pantomime at a local theatre every year, and only current and ex-cabin crew can perform, so it’ll be really interesting to meet fellow theatre bunnies who turned to the skies. Fingers crossed I get in, because it will give me a chance to tread the boards again and keep the theatre kid inside me very happy.
I’m super excited about going to Toronto tomorrow actually. Canada is always somewhere I’ve wanted to visit, so this is like a little dream come true for me.. and I may even bid to go back again in the next couple of months. I’ve always dreamt about living outside of the UK, and I’m worried that Canada may be that place.. haha. So we will see…..
Until next time..
