A Hectic Time

Hello!

I’m so sorry I haven’t got round to posting over the last 10 days.. it’s been so busy, and to be honest, I’ve felt pretty knackered, but I have the afternoon & evening off so I can catch up with you guys and let you know what’s been happening.

My last post was about my time in Toronto. Since then, I have done a Eurotour, a trip to Dubai, & some there and backs.

EUROTOUR

After my days off from Toronto, I went straight into my rostered Eurotour. A Eurotour is pretty much exactly what it says it is – a tour of European countries.. however, it’s not as glamorous as it may sound! Haha.

When you do a Eurotour, you stay with most, if not all, of the same crew the whole time you’re away which is really nice as you start to get to know each other and learn exactly how we work as a team.. I liked that.

My Eurotour was over 3 days:

Day 1: Fly from Heathrow to Marseille (France) and back, then fly up to Helsinki & stay overnight.

Day 2: Fly back from Helsinki to Heathrow, then up to Aberdeen & stay overnight

Day 3: Fly back from Aberdeen to Heathrow, then fly to Dublin & back.

Now, while this might not sound like very much to you, it does take it’s toll. It’s 8 flights in 3 days. Your body isn’t used to doing something like that in such a short period of time. It was amazing how tired I actually was, even though I barely flew through any time zones at all.. my body was just physically knackered.

The hotels themselves were nice.. if you’ve been on my Instagram then you’ll have seen a few of the pictures I put up over the Eurotour. My team were really nice which made the whole process much more bearable. A lot of people hate Eurotours simply because of the amount of flying you have to do in a few days. I have to say, it wasn’t my most favourite thing to do.. but I wouldn’t say no to doing it again, it made a change 🙂

DUBAI

Dubai was actually one of the destinations I bid to go to in June, so I was super excited to get to go. I went to Dubai when I worked on the cruise ship back in 2016 & saw/did all of the tourist hotspots then, so this time I knew I could just take the time to chill out and relax, & not feel like I’m missing out on anything.

I went to Dubai straight after the Eurotour, so I was very glad to be able to lay by/in the pool and not have to worry about moving for a little while! Anyone that knows me personally knows I’m an absolute sun baby – as soon as there’s the smallest amount of sun, the sunglasses & flip flops are on & I refuse to wear a jacket! Haha – so you can imagine that I was in my absolute element in 39 degree heat, lounging by a pool. 39 degree heat isn’t as “relaxing” as it sounds – it’s so hot out there right now that you literally just need to constantly be in the pool or the shade. I can normally be outside on holiday in the sun all day no problem, but when I was in Dubai, I was only outside for 3.5 hours, and then I went indoors.. I caught a fabulous tan though so I really can’t complain!

I’m not normally one to order room service – I like to actually go to a restaurant etc to eat when I’m out of the country, however everyone was so knackered that we just couldn’t be bothered to attempt to find food.. not only that, but it’s Ramadan over in the Middle East right now so eating outside the confines of the hotel was going to be tricky. Well.. I’m glad I ordered room service! Yes the food was a little expensive, but I ate 🙂 & the fact that a little man came to my door with a massive trolley, parked it at the end of my bed, got the food out onto the trolley & then proceeded to let me watch catch-up tele on my iPad whilst eating pizza on the end of my bed….. well, I was in absolute heaven. Literally. It was amazing. Can I go back?

I don’t think I’ll get bored of Dubai, it’s lovely.. I’ll leave it a while to bid for it again though.. there’s many more places to see!

I’m now on a few there & back days, which I don’t mind too much as the days tend to not be so long which gives me a chance to do other things that I need to – after this, I get to go to Johannesburg, South Africa which I am VERY excited for! I have heard that the hotel is beautiful, the steak & wine is to die for (& cheap!), & the pictures I’ve seen of other crew members doing an African Safari……. I must!! I reaaaaaaaally hope I get a good crew so someone will want to do the safari with me. A trip is really made by the crew you share it with, & it’s only my second time flying on the A380 so it’ll be nice to see that again & refresh my brain.

I’m sorry it took me so long to update you on how I am getting on! I absolutely love hearing from you all that are in the application or training stages of the process on Instagram DM.. keep them coming! If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask, I’ll tell you anything I can 🙂 If you’re not following me on Instagram already, it’s linked on the right hand side there so you can start following me.

It’s also roster night tonight!! I finally get to find out what I’m doing in July. I bid for a few trips, so I’ll see if  I get those & I will update you soon on what I was given 🙂 Roster night is always a manic one. They’re live online at 10pm, but the computer system normally crashes until at least 10:30pm as 6000 cabin crew are all trying to access their new rosters at the same time.. so I may wait, if the curiosity doesn’t get to me first! Haha.

I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine this week as much as I am!

Until next time..
